Faroe Islands (FO)

The Faroe Islands – wild, green, and remote.

The Faroe Islands are one of the most extraordinary places in Europe. It’s a place that’s hard to compare to anywhere else. These 18 green islands nestle somewhere between Iceland, Scotland, and Norway, bathed in mist, rain, and wind. The Faroe Islands are an autonomous territory of the Kingdom of Denmark, though they have a powerful sense of identity – their own language, flag, and parliament. The Faroese are incredibly proud of their Viking roots, which are alive not only in museums but also in their everyday mentality —a mentality that is independent, resilient, and rooted in tradition.

The Faroe Islands have a touch of Iceland and a touch of Scotland – rugged landscapes, wild nature, damp air, and a relentless wind. But at the same time, they are entirely different. More quiet, more secluded. As if hidden at the end of the world, hoping to remain undiscovered.

This isn’t a place for everyone. This isn’t a vacation under palm trees, nor is it a „top 10 Instagram” city break destination. This is a place for those who can see beauty in emptiness, in foggy mornings, in the rain and wind that ruffles their hair and thoughts. For those who value solitude and can listen to silence.
